Early Owl

Today, I woke at 6:45am! XD The waking up part is the hardest, after that, you feel so good. Feeling full of energy right now. And the weather is nice too, a good change from the sweltering 40 degrees of yesterday.

I'm a winter person through and through.

It's been a long while since the last blog entry. Not that anyone cares :D

Let's get straight to it.

Here is a really cute piece, Carriage by Ishutani

Nawww, it's so cute XD I just don't know what else to say. I like the colours in this piece, the steel-grey and red meld really well.

Here's another really cool piece, Chase by bpsola

Reminds me a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turltes haha. Love it! The pace. The colours. The vibrancy.  The action. The blur is perfect. The city scene magnificent. Nothing better than a high-speed thriller ride in the dead of night, with the pretty city lights behind you, and your death looming ahead of you...

Okay, maybe not the death bit :O

But damn, it's beautiful!

Whatever doesn't kill me...had better start running

The title of the blog is a rather funny quote I found from the novel ' City of  Glass' from the Mortal Instruments series - definitely check it out!

Looking forward to the cool change, after today being 40 degrees! :D Cold weather is my forte

What can we talk about today?

Naah, to hot to talk about anything. Instead, let's look at two wonderful pieces.

Here is Star kingdom planet by arsenixc

So much detail in this picture! Imagine our cities in the fitire, looking like that! Who knows, it may come to pass. The only thing I don't like about this picture is the colour scheme. But the artists knows best, not some peasant like me XD

And here is Engie's nightmare by alexiuss

I love it! The colours are really good at conveying a moody, grim scene. The image just looks so cooool XD Reminds me a tad of Metro 2033, the game involving post-apocalyptic Russia.

So many talented people out there!

Art of Movement

So, back to DisaFear's self-piteous and boastful blog entries XD

A skill that I admire in anyone is grace.

The art of movement.

Fluid movement.

I love this so much. Effortlessly negotiating crowds. Terrific footwork to swivel. Leaping off stairs to land gracefully at the bottom. Radiating confidence. Radiating aura. Reflexes. Reacting to changes in the environment instantaneously. Constant vigilance (Harry Potter! Remember it? XD )

I don't know what made me so interested in fluid movement. Then there's parkour and free-running, love those. All beautiful. Maybe its all those thriller books I read. Or the video games? Dishonoured? Gosh. You guys are thinking I am crazy :D

(I am by the way :D )

Even ballet interests me now, with its awesome footwork. Sports as well, like badminton, tennis, etc, all have terrific footwork to go with them

There are many things of beauty in this world. And I think 'graceful movement' is one of them. And I will become a master of it one day XD

LOL. Look at me, babbling such nonsense. :D

Found a wonderful piece today, titled Taking Control by MildlyReactive

The colours are just AMAZING! I don't know what else to say. You guys surely know me well by now, I loooove city scenes. The urban scene. Just gets me all excited :D Love this so much!

Juice :D

Many people can't stand pure orange juice without sugar. But reall,y on a hot day, nothing beats some nice orange juice :D

Went to the city today for some dinner. Why do girls these days dress so poorly? At least 70% of them look so so so bad. What is our world coming to? You don't need to dress like that to  be paid attention to by males. Gosh. And it's just the shallow guys anyway. Oh well. Society does what it thinks is best.

The Hobbit movie comes out in a few weeks! I remember reading that book back in Grade 8, still sits on my shelf somewhere! Excellent read, everyone go read it and watch the movie when it comes out! :D

Today's magnificent piece of art is Lustful escape by bpsola

Ooo the terror in the image. Facing off against this giant warrior, with just two small machine pistols. Maybe the hero is just buying time until the big guns can come in! I really love the small details in this piece, the dust trail from the bike and plane, it's really nicely added. The machines themselves are pretty detailed themselves. Overall, a nice piece :)

The Big Bore

It is inevitably a fate all people face. The boring holidays.

Yes, yes, everyone looks forward to holidays. But 2-3 days in, you feel it. You can't have fun forever. Fun costs money. And not all people swim in wads of cash.

Been out for the past 3 days, so decided to stay at home today. And bored. Oh well. :D

Here is a really cute image, can you play with me? by Mummy-fei

At first glance, you'd go "Naww, how cute!"
But...does the image hide something sinister? Is that...man...a manipulator? What are those strings for?
Who knows? :D

Letting it all go

What shall I rant about today?

Hm..

Tattoos and piercings.

Honestly, do people think covering half their body with ink is cool? Not my place to argue with them, but why? In the years to come, regret will appear around the corner.
Then there was the guy who put ink in one of his eyeballs. Seriously?

And piercings. Having bits of metal protruding out of the lips. Or nose. Why? I just don't get it.
Some people can pull off eat-studs well. But other piercings just look horrible. Especially those massive ear extendable thingys.

Gross.

I found an amazing piece of art today. Here is Mandira by JonasDeRo

I don't know where to start. It is simply breath-taking. The colours are epic. The red glows and hues are amazing. The buildings themselves are wonderfully detailed. The scene itself in the image is spectacular; seems to me like the bustle of a market at its closing hour. As everyone heads home at the end of the day.

Just. Love. It.

Clouds of the City

I just discovered the beauty of ginger tea today :D tastes and smells pretty good. Normally, I'm just a milk/sugar tea person, plopping in 2 teaspoons of sugar and gulping it down. Bit it seems like I will have to start experimenting more.

And I made potato chips last night! Chef in the making :P

Here is an amazing piece, Han by *JonasDeRo

The mood is lovely. As I've said many times before, I love cities! And there's nothing better to add to that than a beautiful tinge of orange from the sunset :D
Wish I could be there right now, strolling the streets with someone special :)

Let them eat cake

Sometimes, I feel jealous of all the world
And sometimes, I feel contempt for the world.

Why? Do people have things that I will never have? And, sometimes, do they knowingly make fools out of themselves?

Hmm.

Another day passes, and the newspaper reveals more and more bad news. Why do pedos exist? What fun do they get out of it? D:

Why are celebrities such bad people?

Eh.

Piece of today is City 2159 by nigelhimself

The style of painting is wonderful. I really love the colours used in this one, the red and black meld really nice, and contrast each other where appropiate.
The concept behind the image is pro too, really love the look of the buildings/towers

Excellent piece :D

Healthy

Don't worry, I am still alive and healthy
Oh, I know you wish I wasn't! :D

Good ol' Melbourne, very cold morning, then a very warm afternoon. Why do you do this to me? :(

So, what is happening. Hm.

Hot nights makes it harder to sleep :( And you know it, I love my sleep, oh yes I do.

I'll be baking cake in 3 days! Excited :D Another cooking experience for Chef DisaFear :D

Today's magnificent piece is Machinery of the Stars by alexiuss
Such beauty. The city is absolutely perfect, the pinpricks of light being emitted are masterfully crafted. The being pondering the heavens is perfectly placed. The gears are just pure professional'ness :D For me, the image shows the inner workings of the sky, that only this brave soul can see, as the rest of the city sleeps on, unaware of the beauty of nature.
Yes, I'm partially crazy :D

Speed of Steel

Today, the train went express on our line, first time experience! Skipped like 10 stations, was coooool :D

Had a veggie burger today, that stuff tastes nice :D So expensive though :(

Studystudystudystudystudystudy
My exam timetable consists of the two hardest exams first, right after each other, then a week break till the next, then a week break till the final exam.

Just hoping I can complete the first two satisfactorily. The others should go fine. With a bit of study, something I'm not good at :D

Today's wonderful piece is San Francisco, arteries and veins by alierturk

Yay for wonderful city scenes! :D The roads are our arteries, the vehicles our blood :D

Power To Go

3 hours sleep, I will never ever try living on 3 hours of sleep again.

Felt like I was going to collapse any moment during the day :(

Which means never ever can  I leave work to the last minute. Never ever.

Still tired. Quick piece for today. Here is Scythe City by ChrisCold

Ah, that cheers me up already :D Wicked city of steel and future!

Forsee

Mmm.

The future doesn't look too good. For both me and society.
And it's depressing.

As much as I try not to think about the future, its always there.
Mmm.

Already, the world is suffering from countless calamities. And you'd think tehcnology will make it all better in the future.

But I have a feeling it won't.

Enough with the glum talk! Mm, it's getting quite late. No time for my usual 'pep-talk' :D
Here is Angioma by Tatchit

Lovin the city in the background! So dark. The beast prowls. And the city-people await XD

Stellar Blob

Before taking up Astronomy as a subject at Uni, I never knew that it was possible to view parts of the Milky Way Galaxy with the naked eye.

As with most other city people, our skies don't show much other than the random star here and there, like splatterings of ink across the night sky.

But then, Astro came along, and showed me sights like this.

Appreciate the heavenly beauty that is Veibrink vs The Milky Way by torivarn

That is just spectacular. One day, I need to view this for myself. Amazing.

Cityscape

There are some cute Google billboards around the city, the illustrations are so pretty :)

I shall not keep you long today (if anyone reads this of course) due to a splitting headache. Here is an interesting piece I ran across, Nexus 57 by TLBKaus

The colour scheme is brilliant - orange and black make a powerful combo. The depth of the image is fascinating too - it almost looks like a miniature city!

Until next time!

Commuter reporting for duty

Trains and anything related to them. Where all the weird stuff occur. People beating each other up? Why do you have to do it on a train?

I could ramble on and on about weird stuff happening on trains, but then you guys would never take a train again! D;

Today's piece is New York city concept by jubjubjedi
Yet another beautiful city. My favourite parts of this image are the random walkways that seem to connect the buildings to each other. That would be a beautiful sight in a real city, if it was artistically planned out well.

Kudos to jubjubjedi.

Change

Sleep is such a precious commodity :(

Here is Edge of Precipice by taenaron

Brilliant scene. Again, there's that beautiful looming, majestic city in the background, futuristic and wicked. We see a lone man, cloaked, observing silently, deciding his next course of action. The bridge itself - what is it a crossing for? We will never know. The colours fit well in the image, so pro. Wish I had an imagination like this.

Failures

In the paper the other day, there was some tale about some stupid celebrity crashing a wedding, even after she was asked not to, and then asked to leave. Of course, she doesn't.

Celebrities. Over-paid losers who think they are a big piece of cheese in a little world.

Of course, not all of them are bad. But most of them are. Most of them. What gives them the right to ruin a wedding with their unwanted presences? Needed a good punch in the face, that loser.

Anyway, let us return to the city!

Here is hongkong by wlop. Stunning image, the atmosphere is beautiful, a classic city morning in the winter months, the rain pouring, obscuring all. The high-rise stand tall, the city lights pour out their energy to those interested. So vibrant, love it :D

I wish I could be eternally vibrant :D

Work, work

So much work to do!
On the other hand, I have been doing well in everything, so I'm happy with that :D

Without further ado...

Art Deco city concept by jubjubjedi has aa wonderful atmosphere, the futuristic sort - beautiful tinges of blue and green. Tall, majestic and imposing skyscrapers stand dormant in the background, waiting silently for...something :D (?)

:D

Brilliant piece though, love it!

Zero Kelvin

It's freezing over here in Melbourne! Just my type of weather :D The sidebar widget for weather shows the snow sign!! Never seen snow, wonder if I'm in for a surprise tonight XD

Yea, yea, alright, it's not zero Kelvin...yet...maybe one day ;D Now that is an interesting temperature

I wonder if that temperature can cause this, an abandoned city by poibuts

A wonderful image. If you read the artist's description, it shows humans fleeing Earth to move to a new home, while some remainder of the population look on. I love the rockets fired up into the sky, something calm and tranquil about them (yes, I'm weird).

Now to buy a pair of gloves XD

Speed of light

Oh, that feeling when someone is walking extremely slow, or standing in the middle of a doorway/staricase, urgh! Need a good thump to send them to their destination. Not all of mankind has time for their dallying. Ah, one of these days, their phone is going to fall when they bump into a pole, or I blitz past them. And then I will laugh. :D

(so cruel, I am)

Speaking of phones...train passes a crowded station. What do you see? Phones. People on phones. People, heads bent, poking at their phone. Is this what the future consists of?

Really?

Behold the future, when people will shrivel up due to lack of physical activities, when people will be obsessed with maintaining their 'Internet cred'

Ah, poor future generations. Never know what's gonna hit ya

Anywho.

Let us return to the alleyways, those places that everyone loves :'D

And here is Dangerous Alleyway by atomahawk
Ah, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside! The colour range is spectacular, cities at night-time look spectacular <3 The water covering the ground, and the reflections, are perfect. The lighting is immaculate, the smoke effect stunning. Such beauty. Makes me want to take a nice stroll  through there with someone in hand, enjoying the breath-taking scenery (yes, I consider this alleyway 'scenery' XD )

Who wants to visit an alleyway with me!? D;
